One More Week Until Baby
Excitement is building in our house as we have one week left until my c-section date. My friends are taking bets on whether I will go into labor before then but I have tons to do so hopefully I will make it that long. My son says he is ready to meet the baby but I’m not sure if at two years old he is entirely prepared for the chaos that will follow during the next several weeks.
On tap for planning is to get some meals ready and in the freezer, finish a few freelance projects to bring in as many extra bucks as possible, and get a haircut since it will likely be a while until I’m out and about again. Otherwise I’m also trying to keep the house relatively clean but, much to my disappointment, I can only clean for about an hour at a time before my back starts to hurt so I can only do so much in that department.
I have resigned myself to the evening schedule of the c-section. Although it came as a surprise that they wanted to do it at night the benefit is that I won’t be allowed visitors until the next morning. At least I’ll have a little chance to rest before the well meaning flood my hospital room and start poking and pinching my new addition.
Just thought I’d share my excitement - if I happen to disappear in the next few days then wish me luck!

I was just wondering if this was your first C section. I had a vaginal birth.

My first was an emergency c-section after a long labor. I kept putting off the decision to do a c-section but after a while my son’s heart rate went down and they had to get him out asap so they whisked me off for surgery. I had been hoping for a natural labor/delivery but at that point I was more worried about him.
This time my doc recommended c-section again so I decided to go with it. They weren’t sure why son #1 didn’t come out so the idea of laboring again and ending up with the c-section anyway wasn’t too appealing!
Good luck Mommy!
