Maternity Clothes Addiction
The first step is admitting that I have a problem so here goes - I’m a small bit addicted to my maternity clothes. I know it sounds really strange but I can’t help but spend time every week searching for great deals on relatively high end maternity clothes.
I know it’s odd. Especially given the terrible luck I had with maternity clothes during my first pregnancy. That time around I bought a few necessary pieces, adjusted some of what I already had (elastic skirts and such) and that was it. I felt huge, uncomfortable, itchy, and not so much like that beautiful “glowing” visage of pregnancy that everyone talks about.
This time I happened upon a clearance purchase and fell in love. I’m now brand loyal (Japanese Weekend) because the clothes are incredibly comfy and sexy and they are even made in the USA. Retail prices on these clothes are pretty high - shirts range from $60-$90 and everything else goes up from there but with a little looking it is possible to find incredible clearance deals on this stuff (and they are really worth the price if you can swing it).
Here are my favorite links:
Japanese weekend website: These prices are high but visit the clearance page for deals - and be sure to call and ask if your size isn’t listed as available. I’ve gotten a few things this way and the customer service is really great.
Mom Plus Baby: This is an ebay store with a ton of great JW gear as well as discounted items from other high end maternity lines.
Tummystyle.com: They have tons of great deals - be sure to check out the clearance page links in the toolbar for maternity wear starting at $9.93
The BabyCenter maternity store: Shop clearance - the sizes can be limited but there are some great prices here as well.
These clothes are well worth it and you’ll feel great when you pay less than 20 bucks for an $80 shirt! Enjoy.
