They Grow Up So Fast
I stopped by my son’s room this afternoon while he was taking a nap and realized he’d been asleep for two hours already. That’s usually the upper limit of his nap time so I decided to give him another fifteen minutes and see if he would drag himself out of his afternoon slumber.
After his time was up I went in to try to gently wake him up. If he sleeps too long in the afternoon he’ll be up at five AM the next morning - not my preferred wake up time. I delicately said his name a few times and he did not respond at all. I reached down to touch him and tried again. He rolled over and I that’s when I heard it.
“No” and he turned away from me. I was a little surprised so I tried again. “No mommy” and he pushed my hand away and went back to sleep. I’m not sure when it happened but apparently my two year old is turning into a teenager already. He refused to get up.
I was finally able to get him up and when I did he shot me a not so nice look. Man. It’s not like I’m waking him up to go to work but suddenly I realized that he is definitely his father’s son. I’m so looking forward to the next sixteen years.

HAHA! If he is anything like I was, I suggest buying a helmet and padding. I used to flail my arms around trying to get her off me! I did NOT want to get up for school. I still have a hard time waking up….

Thanks so much! That’s very nice of you and it’s great to know that even though my blog is still pretty much a baby that you are enjoying it!
Aww, I remember those days of pushing my mom away when she tried to wake me up.
